7 food safety tips when handling chicken breasts

Follow these tips to keep your loved ones safe from potential foodborne illnesses.

  1. Always wash your hands thoroughly before and after handling chicken breasts to prevent cross-contamination.
  2. Use separate cutting boards and utensils for raw chicken to avoid spreading bacteria to other foods.
  3. Thaw chicken breasts in the refrigerator or under cold running water, never on the countertop.
  4. Refrigerate leftover chicken breasts within 2 hours of cooking to prevent spoilage.
  5. Avoid eating raw or undercooked chicken.
